Principal Graphics Engineer at 2K

2K is on the lookout for a skilled Principal Graphics Engineer to play a pivotal role in the advancement of our visually stunning game projects. In this position, you will lead a talented group of engineers and work in close partnership with artists, Art Directors, and other team members to define the visual style utilizing Unreal Engine 5. Your key tasks will encompass refining core shaders, introducing innovative rendering technologies, and incorporating external solutions to tackle rendering obstacles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide a team of Graphics Engineers
  • Devise inventive technical solutions inspired by concept art and artistic direction
  • Develop tools and systems to realize artistic goals
  • Effectively utilize third-party tools during runtime
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary development partners
  • Establish best practices, workflows, and pipelines
  • Support the growth of fellow engineers through mentorship
  • Conduct research and gather information for new projects
  • Stay updated on industry trends and methodologies
  • Provide constructive feedback and direction to both internal teams and external collaborators

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • At least 7 years of experience in the gaming industry
  • Proven experience in delivering AAA titles using Unreal Engine
  • Previous leadership experience in graphics or rendering engineering
  • Strong skills in 3D Mathematics and C/C++ programming
  • Familiarity with contemporary GPUs and gaming platforms
  • In-depth knowledge of Unreal Engine from a graphics standpoint
  • Experience with tools such as Houdini, Substance Painter, and Z-Brush
  • Capability to optimize code for enhanced performance
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership capabilities
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and driven by deadlines
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
