We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Officer to join our team at the State of California. Key Responsibilities:- Perform professional accounting duties of average difficulty, including providing financial services for the Division of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) in the Elevator & Amusement Ride/Tramway (EV/ART) Accounts Receivable Unit.
- Work under the general supervision of the Senior Accounting Officer (Supervisor) to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to management on financial matters.
- Collaborate with other accounting units and divisions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accounting and budgeting principles, methods and procedures.
- Ability to audit financial information and verify accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research, analyze situations, and make recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with management, staff, and external stakeholders.
