Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Warehouse Worker to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Agawam, MA. As a key member of our Customer Channels Group, you will be responsible for leading daily distribution activities, ensuring productivity and quality within the receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the supervisor in meeting departmental productivity, quality, service, and financial goals.
  • Provide leadership assistance with daily operations, including coordinating with the supervisor to ensure staffing levels meet department and launch time goals.
  • Coordinate and direct workflow for the department when the supervisor is unavailable.
  • Train temporary employees and new hires on standard operating procedures, material handling equipment, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Maintain a safe, injury-free work environment by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards and reporting any incidents or concerns.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • General warehouse experience preferred, with familiarity with operating powered industrial trucks and handling hazardous materials.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and proficiency with computers and scanning equipment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, work within a team, and solve problems quickly.
  • Physical requirements include standing and moving about the warehouse for significant periods, lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 70 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally.
