Overview
Kamatics Corporation is seeking an Inspector IV to become a vital part of our team. This role involves conducting advanced inspection tasks for products and materials, including first piece inspections and in-process monitoring as designated. The position will report to the Value Stream Manager/Sr. Team Leader for work assignments aimed at fulfilling production schedules. Additionally, there will be a dotted line reporting relationship to the Sr. Team Leader in Quality Assurance for quality-related matters.
The working hours for this position are during the 2nd shift: 3:30 PM - 1:00 AM, which includes one hour of mandatory overtime at the end of the shift, ensuring a total of 45 hours per week. Overtime pay is calculated at 1.5 times the hourly rate for any hours exceeding 40 in a week.

As a division of Kaman Corporation, located in Bloomfield, CT, we are leaders in designing and manufacturing high-tech mechanical products, including self-lubricated bearings and driveline couplings, utilized in aviation, marine, hydropower, and various industrial applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of various mechanical components and assemblies to precise tolerances. Perform first piece and in-process inspections within the assigned value stream.
- Detect defects in surface, dimensional, visual, and non-conformities (material, documentation, and workmanship) in accordance with blueprints and Kamatics' quality standards. Report any non-conformance of materials or unusual conditions to the Quality Supervisor and cell leader.
- Utilize a range of conventional and advanced inspection tools, including CMM devices, to verify dimensions against drawing specifications.
- Fulfill all responsibilities while adhering to productivity and quality expectations. Follow established work procedures.
- Maintain necessary records, data, and logs. Create inspection documentation such as IMS, first article, and other related forms.
- Prepare products and associated paperwork for customer or source inspection presentations.
- Provide leadership and training as required. Ensure production schedules are consistently met.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Adhere to safety and environmental regulations and report any safety incidents to the supervisor.
- Recommend improvements to work processes and procedures. Contribute to 5S initiatives in the work area.
- Deliver a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Foster a positive teamwork environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned. Engage in training and learning for other positions as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing setting.
