Accounting Specialist with QuickBooks Expertise

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7-hour shifts, totaling 35 hours per week.

Compensation: $17.00 per hour

Qualifications:

  • Experience in accounting, business administration, finance, or related fields, with a focus on fiscal management, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, bank reconciliations, payroll oversight, grant invoicing, and audit preparation.
  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software is essential.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Commitment to the principles of trauma-informed care, strength-based approaches, positive youth development, motivational interviewing, and harm reduction methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and implement all financial operations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and compliance standards.
  • Maintain the organization's financial documentation, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, balance sheets, trial balances, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensure all disbursements are processed in alignment with grant funding requirements.
  • Record and deposit revenue accurately into the organization's financial accounts.
  • Generate and submit monthly invoices to funding sources within stipulated deadlines.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations for all organizational bank accounts.
  • Safeguard all financial records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for both the board and leadership team.
  • Collaborate with an independent accounting firm to finalize the annual financial statement and Form 990.
  • Assist the executive director in preparing the annual budget, monitoring monthly performance, and conducting quarterly trend analyses in accordance with the budget.
  • Support the leadership team in processing purchase orders for goods and services, adhering to procurement policies.
  • Complete all necessary documentation to comply with local, state, and federal regulations, ensuring all grant and contract requirements are met.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in QuickBooks and the Microsoft Office Suite.
