Job Summary:
As a Transportation Specialist with the City of Albuquerque, you will be responsible for operating a City vehicle in support of assigned functions. This includes transporting participants to and from various locations, performing safety checks on assigned vehicles, and picking up supplies or materials as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a City vehicle for the performance of assigned duties
- Perform daily inspection of vehicles and ensure safety for passengers
- Pick up supplies or materials and match with authorized purchase documentation
- Collect and account for money received
- Learn various social services available to participants
- Communicate clearly and concisely
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) year passenger transportation or delivery experience
- Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire
- Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Operation and maintenance requirements of passenger vehicles
- City streets, boundaries, and roadways
- Traffic laws, ordinances, and rules
