The Environmental Services Specialist will be responsible for ensuring Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner. Additional responsibilities include engaging in strenuous physical labor, operating light and heavy equipment, handling various hand tools and powered industrial tools, and wearing and properly using personal protective Equipment (PPE). The ideal candidate will be able to work in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and work in atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemical and physical agents. They will also be able to work in potentially elevated noise levels, confined spaces, and at elevations including working from ladders and scaffolding. The Environmental Services Specialist will also be responsible for assisting in field sampling activities and calibration of meters, climbing ladders, scaffolding, and into and out of trucks, tanks, and various other containers, working extended time periods, attending all compliance and safety update meetings, inspecting drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance, safely loading and unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, conducting waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary, following all local, state, and federal compliance regulations and rules, safely operating vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state, and federal requirements, safe observation of all corporate operating guidelines and procedures, observing all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines, and performing other duties as assigned. The Environmental Services Specialist may also be required to be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week and may be required to work on weekends and holidays. The ideal candidate will have reliable transportation and the ability to perform physical functions per the job requirements. They will also be required to successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical by position. Additionally, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.
