Job Title: Construction Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Manager to join our team at Chenega MIOS SBU. As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for providing construction engineering and project management labor support to various locations within the NAVFAC Washington Area of Responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review pre-final contract drawings and specifications to ensure constructability and compatibility with actual field conditions.
  • Develop and execute projects using Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build delivery methods.
  • Coordinate mandatory post-award contract meetings, including kickoff meetings, preconstruction conferences, and design review meetings.
  • Assist in managing contractor Requests for Information (RFIs) and ensuring timely responses.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project budget and time constraints, and initiate corrective action as necessary.
  • Routinely visit construction sites to monitor progress and solicit input from Engineering Technician/Quality Assurance (ET/QA) representatives.
  • Take necessary action to ensure the contractor's quality control program is provided following contract requirements.
  • Provide project status updates to senior personnel.
  • Assist in coordinating the delivery, acceptance, inspection, and installation of government-furnished equipment.
  • Assist in preparing property record inventory documents.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 15+ years of experience as a Superintendent, Quality Control Manager, or a Project Manager.
  • Secret clearance required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of construction practices and methods.
  • Ability to review technical engineering specifications and statements of work.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, project delivery methods, and regulations governing federal contract administration.
  • Able to communicate effectively to all leadership levels.
  • Knowledge and experience with applicable Codes and Industry Standards.
  • Knowledge of EM, US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Safety and Health Requirements Manual.
  • Ability to prepare cost estimates and assist in negotiations of change orders.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and software applications such as MS Office and Primavera P6.
