The Powered Electric Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of all production and assembly machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
To excel in this position, the individual must effectively carry out the following essential duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
- Coordinate with management to establish preventative maintenance schedules, equipment shutdowns, and repair activities.
- Monitor and manage equipment downtime, mean time to repair (MTTR), mean time between failures (MTBF), and implement organizational improvements.
- Generate daily and monthly performance reports.
- Ensure accuracy in the inventory of materials and spare parts for items undergoing repair.
- Execute time-based preventive maintenance tasks using the SAP system.
- Document maintenance outcomes and propose improvement strategies.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team for the installation of new machinery.
- Assess and support the effective maintenance of equipment, providing regular reports.
- Review and refine weekend plans, shutdown schedules, preventive maintenance strategies, and maintenance manuals.
- Guarantee the precision of equipment materials and spare parts.
- Compile detailed reports of equipment discrepancies along with corrective measures.
- Assist in the enhancement of equipment and parts repair processes.
- Engage in troubleshooting activities for equipment malfunctions.
- Develop a comprehensive repair manual for future reference.
- Evaluate and coordinate training requirements within the department, creating training programs as necessary.
- Adhere to Personal Protective Equipment standards in accordance with safety regulations.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment, including participation in safety meetings and conducting them when required.
Essential Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years of experience as a maintenance technician.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Familiarity with the automotive industry is essential.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in SAP is necessary.
- Experience with automated production lines is advantageous.
- Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of production robotics is a plus.
- Understanding of conveyor systems is beneficial.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing practices is desirable.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) techniques.
- Competence in using both hand tools and power tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of schematics and electrical systems.
- Knowledge of servo motors and controls.
- Experience with preventive maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with hydraulic presses.
- Knowledge of centrifugal pumps.
- Experience with welding techniques including SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW.
- Commitment to safe work practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Certifications:
Mechatronic background is preferred.
Work Environment:
- Predominantly on the production floor, with some time spent in the office.
- Involves extensive walking and standing on the production floor.
- Occasional bending, stooping, and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and weekends is required.
- Team-oriented working environment.
- Mandatory use of PPE at all times.
