Regional Gun Violence Prevention Organizer

CeaseFirePA, a leading gun violence prevention organization in Pennsylvania, is seeking an experienced organizer to spearhead our efforts in the Lehigh Valley.
About CeaseFirePAWe are dedicated to ending the epidemic of gun violence in our state by expanding our grassroots network, deepening coalitions, and holding elected officials accountable. Our vision is a Commonwealth where all individuals can live without fear of gun violence.
The RoleThis full-time position will be responsible for:
- Building a robust grassroots movement: You will recruit and empower volunteers to engage in various actions, including lobbying, letter writing, canvassing, phone banking, and more.
- Nurturing strong partnerships: You will collaborate with community leaders, activists, faith leaders, medical professionals, educators, anti-violence advocates, and law enforcement to build a diverse coalition of committed partners advocating for life-saving gun laws.
- Shifting the narrative on gun violence prevention: By harnessing the power of storytelling, you will amplify the voices of survivors, gun owners, and public health experts to redefine our movement's message in local media.
- Lobbying decision-makers: You will meet with policymakers, organize protests, town halls, marches, and other engagement events to push for policy solutions that address gun violence.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Demonstrated track record of building relationships with volunteers and allies, motivating them to take action.
- Compelling communication skills, including public speaking and writing, to inspire and mobilize citizens.
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze and understand complex political landscapes.
- Self-starter who thrives in creating and implementing new projects within a team context.
- Effective communicator and relationship builder able to interact with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
This position requires living in Lehigh or Northampton Counties or the Pocono Area. The salary range is $40,000-$45,000 (or hourly equivalent) based on experience. As a full-time employee, you will be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including fully-covered healthcare, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.How to Apply
