About the Role

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director of Finance to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the University Development Office (UDO) Finance Team
  • Manage and ensure compliance with financial policies and practices
  • Assist the Chief Business Officer (CBO) in managing daily operations and long-term planning
  • Coordinate the development, implementation, and submission of the UDO annual revenue and expense budget
  • Monitor and track UDO funds, ensuring spending is within budget and supported by UDO leaders
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations, financial reports, and analyze plans to identify potential problems
  • Recommend funding levels, changes, and redistributions of funds
  • Work collaboratively with contracts, procurement, travel, development, and talent development teams to establish best practices and process maps
  • Communicate key data to individuals with varying levels of financial acumen
  • Recruit, onboard, lead, coach, and mentor team members as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a closely related field
  • Minimum five years of experience in a related field, such as finance, program management, organizational operations, or higher education administration
  • Minimum three years of experience managing budgets
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent presentation and analytic skills
  • Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, and word processing applications
