Job Title: Portfolio Finance Associate

Aypa Power, a leading developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable projects, seeks a skilled Portfolio Finance Associate to join its team. As a key member of the Portfolio Finance team, you will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of Aypa Power's diverse project portfolio, overseeing over $2 billion of existing financings and growing $1-2 billion per annum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Grow Aypa's Portfolio Finance function, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure sound execution and compliance with existing financings.
  • Manage tax equity and project finance models, financing agreements, and debt fundings to successfully close transactions.
  • Provide FP&A support, delivering key information for annual planning, budgeting, corporate model maintenance, and cash and tax forecasts.
  • Manage corporate credit facilities, including Letter of Credit (LC) issuances and the company's surety bond program.
  • Provide advice, best practices, and transaction support to deal execution teams in structuring and executing financings.
  • Own key aspects of the corporate model and strategic business reporting/analysis.
  • Manage financing partner relationships with counterparty stakeholders and improve the financial performance and capital structure of projects and the overall portfolio.
  • Manage the interest rate hedging program, including compliance and supporting accounting on hedge effectiveness analysis.
  • Maintain HLBV accounting and tax equity partnership tracking models, liaising with consultants as required.
  • Partner with asset management and leadership to navigate contract amendments, consents, waivers, and facilitate smooth information sharing across Aypa.
  • Support ongoing planning and reporting requirements to Blackstone.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of finance, asset management, or FP&A work experience, ideally with exposure to the energy or asset management industries.
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, law, finance, business, or accounting.
  • Familiarity with transactions in the renewables space, with tax equity financing or fund management experience a major plus.
  • Technical understanding to support budgeting, forecasting, and financing.
  • Ability to review and understand complex contracts, including technical, financial, and legal concepts with respect to major infrastructure projects.
  • Financial modeling experience in energy or infrastructure is required.
  • Familiarity with complex portfolio management.
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate and influence other business partners.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint; ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
