Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Facilitator to join our team at Heartland Community College. The successful candidate will provide academic and vocational support to students with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support daily operations of the HALO Program, including recruitment and outreach, application and interview process, and program assessment and updates.
  • Process documentation and maintain student files.
  • Work with instructors to coordinate experiential events for the HALO Program.
  • Assist in the coordination of the HALO Peer Mentor program.
  • Advocate for students to ensure equal access and promote their independence and life skills development.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience/education.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience working with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504, or related regulations.
  • Experience working directly with and supporting individuals with various types of diagnoses or disabilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and inclusively with students participating in the HALO Program while promoting their independence.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students with disabilities at the college level.
  • Experience working with students in a mentoring role.
