Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nutrition Care Associate to join our team at Intermountain Medical Center. As a key member of our food service team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest quality of food and nutrition services.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain food and supplies from storeroom and deliver trays to patients using patient identifier process.
  • Stock and clean food service areas, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.
  • Independently resolve customer service issues and perform accurate cash/credit transactions.
  • Balance and reconcile cash drawers, maintaining accurate records.
  • Prepare and serve food, including salads, sandwiches, and other menu items, following standard recipes and techniques.
  • Understand modified diets and prepare modified recipes using appropriate techniques.
  • Maintain an organized and sanitary working environment, adhering to HACCP standards.
  • Perform housekeeping functions, including cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, floor care, and equipment maintenance.
Requirements
  • Food Handler's Permit (as required by the County).
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively, as well as handle problems and difficult situations.
  • Demonstrated basic math skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Preferred qualifications include one year of food service or cashier experience and hospital food service experience.
Work Environment

This position requires the ability to interact with patients and coworkers, requiring verbal communication and understanding of spoken information. The employee must also be able to operate food service equipment and computer, move fingers and hands, see and read labels, monitors, and documents, carry, push/pull, and walk while transporting food, supplies, and service equipment, climb, squat, kneel, and lift to clean equipment and reach and retrieve food and supplies, and remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.

The employee must also be able to tolerate extremes in temperature and exposure to cleaning chemicals.
