Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Support Associate to join our team at Select Specialty Hospital - Town and Country. This dynamic individual will be responsible for providing support to our nursing staff, ensuring seamless operations, and delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with vital signs, height, weight, and demographic data collection
  • Provide personal and daily care, including bathing, oral hygiene, shaving, and hair care
  • Assist with urinary catheter removal, finger stick blood sugars, routine urine and stool specimen collection, ostomy care, and emptying drainage receptacles/tubes
  • Remove peripheral IVs as directed by RN (excluding those located in the antecubital fossa or higher)
  • Deliver meals and snacks, feed patients who are unable to feed themselves, and document oral intake, including supplements
  • Turn and position immobile patients safely while maintaining proper body alignment; participate in mobility programs
  • Answer patient call lights and perform services that add to the physical well-being of the patient
  • Transport patients to designated areas, such as treatment centers

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN program) and proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures and aseptic practices required
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to follow written and verbal instructions, and maintain effective working relations with others, including patients, families, physicians, and hospital associates
  • BLS certification required

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
