Position Overview:
The Surgical Technician is responsible for performing as the scrub nurse, assisting in the nursing care and surgical services provided to a diverse patient population, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. This role aligns with the philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures established by the Nursing Department and Hospital Administration.
The Surgical Technician must demonstrate the requisite knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate care tailored to the age of the patients served within the nursing unit or patient care department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of prior experience in a medical/surgical environment and/or Operating Room is essential.
Certification:
Surgical Tech Certification is mandatory, obtained through an accredited educational program.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Physical:
The role necessitates prolonged periods of standing, walking, and other physical activities on a routine basis. It also requires significant physical effort intermittently, such as lifting, pulling, or pushing heavy and cumbersome loads (over 40 lbs.).
Mental:
The position may involve occasional overtime, which could disrupt personal and social life, while regular workloads and deadlines may impose stress on a routine basis.

Work Schedule:
Day shift, 8 hours
Work Shift:
Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with flexibility as needed. Training will be provided for Endoscopy procedures.
