Surgical Assistant

Nuvance Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Assistant to join our team in the Operating Room. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will be responsible for assisting with nursing care activities and providing support to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a medical or surgical setting is preferred, but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient preparation and positioning for surgical procedures
  • Provide support to surgical teams during procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized operating room environment
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous medical or surgical experience preferred
  • Surgical Tech Certification required

Working Conditions:

The Surgical Assistant will work in a fast-paced operating room environment, with frequent exposure to surgical procedures and medical equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
