Sentara Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diabetes Care Specialist to join our team. As a Registered Nurse with a focus on Diabetes Education, you will play a critical role in providing expert clinical resources to our clinical staff and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate care and education for patients with diabetes across a continuum in collaboration with other disciplines, community agencies, and Sentara Healthcare subsidiaries.
  • Provide patient, family, and staff education to promote wellness and prevention of complications associated with diabetes.
  • Develop and implement diabetes education programs to meet the needs of our patients and community.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care and education for patients with diabetes.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in diabetes management and education.
Requirements
  • Active VA or Compact RN license.
  • BSN degree.
  • At least 2 years of experience in diabetes care.
  • Certification in Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) required within 2 years of employment.
