About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled technical brand storyteller to join Confluent as a Senior Product Marketing Manager (PMM). In this role, you will partner with our content, customer, campaigns, and analyst teams to develop impactful messaging and assets that drive our go-to-market (GTM) motions.

You will engage with customers, analysts, and partners through group sessions and targeted interactions, breaking down complex topics into clear, value-driven stories for both internal and external audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.

An ideal candidate has a proven track record in technical B2B journalism, product, solution, industry, or brand marketing, with excellent communication skills and exceptional leadership skills to drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the data streaming platform's brand narrative, translating complex platform capabilities into impactful stories with messaging that resonates with technical decision makers.
  • Collaborate to create high-impact content, partnering closely with content, customer, campaigns, and analyst teams to develop landing pages, eBooks, solution briefs, webinars, blogs, presentations, and more.
  • Lead external speaking engagements, delivering presentations, videos, and discussions to educate customers, analysts, and partners in group sessions or targeted interactions.
  • Learn from customers, market insights, and stakeholders, refining and improving your messaging and assets by applying qualitative and quantitative feedback from key sources.
Requirements:
  • A love of storytelling and teaching.
  • A proven track record of delivering impactful customer-facing messaging and assets.
  • A growth mindset proven through 5+ years of technical B2B journalism, product marketing, solutions marketing, industry marketing, brand marketing, or comparable experience in other complex industries.
  • A bachelor's degree in journalism, creative writing, computer science, or related fields, or comparable experience.

  • Working experience with the data infrastructure ecosystem, Platform-as-a-Service market (PaaS) business models, Open Source Software (OSS)-led companies, or cloud hyperscalers.
  • A strong portfolio of written work that communicates technical concepts to decision-makers in compelling, plain language.
  • Proven public speaking skills, particularly in engaging with customers and analysts.
