Position Overview:
The Lead Financial Reporting Specialist will take charge of the consolidation process for our monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting cycles.
The ideal candidate will gather essential information for creating journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and addressing related matters, serving as the primary contact for all technical accounting inquiries.
This position is critical in ensuring that the organization maintains robust internal controls to guarantee accurate financial data and protect company assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the preparation of consolidating and eliminating accounting entries for various organizational entities.
Assist in refining and implementing established accounting processes.
Maintain comprehensive reconciliations of all assigned balance sheet accounts.
Provide thorough analyses and explanations of all consolidated transactions.
Lead and support the annual audit process in collaboration with external auditors.
Mentor and develop junior staff members.
Draft technical accounting memos as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Experience in a complex manufacturing or service environment.
Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is essential.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required; advanced degrees such as an MBA or MSA are preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field within a publicly held organization is highly desirable.
CPA or CMA certification is mandatory.
Physical Requirements:
Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds as necessary.
Ability to read and comprehend English.
