Job Summary:

As a Dairy Farm Transportation Specialist with Dairy Farmers of America, you will be responsible for transporting raw milk from farm to processing plant or trucking terminal. This is a full-time position that requires a commercial motor vehicle operator with a CDL (Class A) and tanker endorsement.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations, and policies, adhering to all safety practices.

Follow dispatch schedule and directions from dispatch and location supervisory personnel, traveling to locations to transport raw milk.

Transfer raw milk from farm containers to trailer, taking quality and control samples at farm, measuring milk loaded into trailer, and applying seals properly and documenting seal numbers to paperwork to ensure traceability and security of load.

Follow designated routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by supervisory personnel, taking measures to minimize truck idle times and conserve fuel consumption.

Maintain positive communications with producers, listening for issues or potential problems, and reporting producers' comments to transportation and member services management.

Always represent DFA positively and professionally during interactions with producers, customers, or regulatory personnel.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED or equivalent preferred

Current CDL (Class A) in state of residence and tanker endorsement

Minimum of 1-year verifiable CDL driving experience (military experience does count towards this requirement)

Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both orally and in writing, and basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

Ability to read and record accurate volume and weight measurement, good organization and record keeping skills, and punctuality
