Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Formulate and execute strategic initiatives to enhance KPFF's civil engineering practice in Northern California. Recognize new business prospects and nurture robust client relationships.
  • Team Leadership: Assemble and direct a skilled team of engineers and technicians. Provide oversight and guidance throughout project execution, ensuring adherence to the highest standards. Promote a culture of innovation, excellence, and teamwork within the group.
  • Project Management: Supervise the planning, design, and implementation of various civil engineering projects. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Collaborate with other teams to align civil engineering solutions with overall project objectives.
  • Client Engagement: Develop proposals leveraging technical expertise to secure new projects. Maintain a strong network of industry contacts through active participation in industry events.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in California.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a minimum of ten years of experience in site development and/or land development projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing and delivering complex civil engineering projects, with a solid understanding of industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and cultivate enduring client relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with public utility work and subdivision projects is advantageous.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Flexible location within Northern California.
  • Primarily office-based duties, requiring extended periods of sitting at a desk or computer.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 15 lbs.
  • Periodic visits to project sites for field inspections, which may involve walking, standing, kneeling, or navigating uneven terrain.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive compensation structure where salary and level will be determined based on your individual experience and your expressed desire to grow within the company, potentially evolving into an ownership role. The salary range for a qualified candidate with at least ten years of experience starts at $120,000 and increases based on qualifications.
