About the Role

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Survey Crew Chief to join our team of experts in land surveying and mapping. As a key member of our survey crew, you will be responsible for leading field survey work, including boundary surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title surveys, topographic surveys, photo control surveys, route surveys, and construction stakeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of survey crew members in the field, ensuring efficient and accurate data collection.
  • Operate robotic total stations and GPS receivers to collect relevant data and information.
  • Conduct daily duties, including cutting brush, driving stakes, taking detailed notes and diagrams, and maintaining company equipment and survey vehicles.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and current health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with registered professional surveyors to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Requirements
  • 5-8 years of experience as a survey crew chief in land surveying and mapping.
  • Skilled in the use of GPS devices, data collectors, and/or total stations.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
  • Knowledge of land surveying principles, techniques, and practices.
  • Knowledge of computer-aided drafting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices, including construction specifications, plans, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific safe workplace principles and practices.
  • Ability to operate motorized equipment and work outdoors in various field conditions.
  • Valid driver's license.
