SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Salary: Based on Qualifications

GENERAL OVERVIEW

This role entails providing advanced professional assistance within the office of the County Judge. The position involves managing and coordinating high-level administrative functions, with the potential to oversee the work of other staff members. The successful candidate will operate with a significant degree of autonomy and will report directly to the County Judge.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop and implement administrative protocols, standards, and methodologies.

- Prepare technical documentation for manuals and publications.

- Supervise the assessment and evaluation of work processes to enhance administrative practices and formulate policies aimed at improving public services.

- Collaborate with various governmental bodies and private entities.

- Provide counsel to the County Judge on administrative issues.

- Deliver technical administrative support to the County Judge.

- Assist in the organization and preparation of records, correspondence, and presentations.

- Support the County Judge in human resource management activities.

- Contribute to budget planning and preparation.

- May oversee and assign tasks to other staff members.

- Perform additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business administration, political science, or a related field.

- Minimum of two years of relevant experience.

- Relevant experience may substitute for education on a one-to-one basis.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

- A valid Texas driver’s license is required.

- Must be eligible for coverage under the County's insurance policy.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

- Comprehensive knowledge of standard business practices and procedures relevant to service delivery, including applicable regulations and policies.

- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office and office systems.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage high-level administrative challenges, including supervising others.

- Analytical skills to address and resolve work-related issues.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- The physical demands of this position include regular communication, frequent standing, and occasional walking, sitting, and lifting of items over twenty-five pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

- The typical noise level in the work environment is moderate.

SAFETY STANDARDS

- Maintain physical and mental conditions conducive to fulfilling job responsibilities, including making sound decisions and exercising good judgment.

- Effectively manage a multi-tasking environment and collaborate closely with others.
