Elevate Patient Financial Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Patient Advocate to join our team. As a Patient Advocate, you will play a critical role in connecting uninsured hospital patients with government programs that cover their medical expenses.
Key Responsibilities- Screen uninsured hospital patients to determine eligibility for federal, state, and county medical or disability assistance programs.
- Complete and submit applications, following through until approval.
- Document all cases worked in applicable Company programs and hospital systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service skills at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay up-to-date on government programs and regulations.
- Maintain a structured and timely contact with patients and government agencies.
- Assist patients with gathering additional reports or records, meeting appointment dates and times, and arranging transportation as needed.
- Inform patients of all approvals and denials of coverage in a timely manner.
- Some college coursework preferred.
- Prior hospital experience preferred.
- Adaptability when dealing with changing processes, computer systems, and government programs.
- Professional experience working with state and federal programs.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment.
