Job Title: Patient Access Representative

Location: Virginia Beach, VA

Position Summary:

  • Oversee the patient registration process, ensuring accurate verification of patient identity, reviewing schedules and physician orders, gathering demographic and insurance details, and clarifying complex regulatory and compliance documents to patients.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for patients, welcoming them, addressing inquiries, and ensuring they are guided to the appropriate service area.
  • Execute scheduling, pre-admission, and discharge responsibilities, while providing updates to families in waiting areas.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of two years of experience in customer service and/or data entry
  • Proficient keyboarding skills
  • Familiarity with third-party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding, and medical terminology is preferred
