Position Overview: As a Retail Loss Prevention Detective, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our assets and maintaining a secure shopping environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing daily loss prevention tasks and safety protocols.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with store management.
  • Conducting apprehensions in line with established policies.
  • Engaging with store associates on initiatives aimed at reducing damage and shrinkage.
  • Identifying and addressing both internal and external theft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow established guidelines for handling shoplifting incidents.
  • Deliver prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers.
  • Foster a culture of honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Monitor, apprehend, and deter acts of dishonesty from external sources.
  • Participate in investigations and surveillance as directed.
  • Ensure apprehensions align with store theft activity.
  • Complete and distribute necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain proper evidence and demonstrate understanding of law enforcement procedures.
  • Collaborate with store management on shrink-related activities.
  • Adhere to all relevant labor laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Support and engage in store shrink reduction initiatives.
  • Encourage associates to utilize shrink reduction resources.
  • Promote safety awareness and contribute to a secure environment.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills and sound judgment.
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills.
  • Effective time management abilities.
  • Investigative and analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changes and unexpected situations.
  • Collaborative team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that meets business needs.
  • 0-2 years of experience in retail or security preferred.
