The Product Delivery Manager (PDM) is responsible for handling digital product delivery, owning and enhancing one or more digital products, and developing new digital products within the product area. The PDM works closely with stakeholders to advance the company mission and business plan.
The PDM liaises with Division Leaders, Product Management, Architecture, Production Support, UI/UX designers, and the Project Management Office to drive digital product enhancements and develop new digital products. They are a technical leader with an understanding of business goals, business processes, and solutions delivery for the products they deliver.
The PDM is responsible for the planning and delivery execution of technology enabled business capabilities, meeting those needs within the context of all enterprise architecture and practices presented by the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
The PDM handles the identification and implementation of technology enabled business capabilities, understanding business strategies, challenges, and priorities. They collaborate with business partners, business analysts, project managers, architects, and other areas of IT to define and deliver new technology enabled business capabilities.
The position reports to a Product Line Delivery Manager.
- Planning, construction, and delivery of technology enabled products.
- Partner with outside vendors in delivering products.
- Develop, track, and control the annual operating and capital budgets for their products.
- Define costs, benefits, and schedule estimates for their products.
- Work within the defined solution and data architectural standards and governance.
- Understand the complexity of both the organization's business capabilities and technology environment affecting their products.
- Work cross-functionally with both business and IT stakeholders.
- Help business leaders and their teams think through product decisions.
- Remain current on industry specific knowledge and emerging technology to determine their potential impacts on the product delivery.
- Develop productive relationships with product stakeholders and technology partners.
- Follow the methodologies and practices for the product life cycle management as defined by the Product Line Delivery Manager and support the improvement and refinement of these practices based on continuous improvement.
- Provide status reporting, metrics, and benchmarks.
- Work with the IT Operations, Support and Production stakeholders to deliver products in a way that improves the business and technical fitness of the products they deliver and minimizes the products ongoing support costs.
- Ensure that the products they deliver align with enterprise security and compliance standards.
- Ensure that their products comply with legal and corporate requirements.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- eCommerce experience (Magento would be a plus).
- Requirements gathering.
- User story writing experience.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Effective conceptualization, pattern recognition, and teaming skills.
- 5+ years' experience in progressively responsible information technology solution delivery.
- Data modeling and information classification expertise at the product level.
- Experience working with product managers, business analysts, and stakeholders to identify and validate product features.
- Understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information models.
- Negotiation skills with business and technical groups.
- Excellent communication and persuasion skills.
- Ability to analyze solution needs and determine the resources needed to achieve goals and overcome cross-functional barriers.
- 3+ years of experience in which one or more of the following occurred:
- Demonstrated competency in the execution of large, enterprise projects.
- Demonstrated competency in relationship management.
- Gained experience in managing resources to meet goals and competing priorities.
- Gained experience in leading multidiscipline, high-performance work teams/groups.
- Strong Presentation and meeting management skills.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems.
- Strong understanding of software, hardware, development frameworks, and corporate technology and trends.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to independently drive resolution of issues and challenges and shape your own work based on the unique demands of your specific responsibilities.
- Experience delivering and extending consumer or staff facing solutions.
- Ability to present and communicate both business and technical concepts.
- Strong consultative skills at a cross-functional level.
- Capable of acting as a thought partner and trusted advisor in supplying oversight of portfolio, program, and project health and assessment of opportunities.
- Experience monitoring and controlling product development costs.
- Curiosity to investigate industry standards and best practices.

- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.

- Experience delivering software using offshore resources.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS) or Engineering.
- Master's degree preferred.
