Job Summary

AFC Urgent Care Portland is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team in Beaverton. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, preparing specimens for analysis, and performing various screening tests.

Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using various venipuncture methods
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, including labeling and processing
  • Perform CLIA-waved lab tests and report results
  • Process urine, sputum, and throat swab specimens for laboratory testing
  • Follow all health and safety protocols to maintain a sanitary work area
  • Verify patient information and label samples properly
  • Accurately update patient information in the electronic medical record
  • Help nervous or frightened patients remain calm during blood draws
  • Resolve ambiguous and/or unusual test orders, and escalate as necessary
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of a Phlebotomy program or equivalent vocational-technical school required
  • Professional certification in phlebotomy preferred
  • Experience in a medical office setting, 1+ years preferred
  • Spanish bilingual preferred
