Job SummaryWe are seeking a part-time, in-person laboratory instructor to teach a 3-contact hour, 1 credit hour laboratory course in molecular biology. The instructor will be responsible for teaching BIO 440L, which focuses on techniques of molecular biology, including PCR, Western blot/ELISA, immunohistochemical staining, and bioinformatic approaches.
Responsibilities- Teach BIO 440L, a 3-contact hour, 1 credit hour laboratory course in molecular biology.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and activities to promote student learning and understanding.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students.
- Collaborate with the Natural Sciences team to ensure a cohesive and effective learning experience.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of curriculum and programs.
- Master's degree in biology or biochemistry or a related field.
- Previous experience teaching college-level science courses.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, necessary to interact effectively with all university constituents.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, staff, and all university administration.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching.
