St. Luke's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Emergency Department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to medical emergencies and transport patients to the Emergency Department
- Participate in planning and data collection to ensure high-quality patient care
- Perform clinical procedures, including EKGs, glucometry, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing
- Collect and send specimens, and perform quality control checks as needed
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CPR certification and medical terminology knowledge
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Must be able to sit for up to 2 hours per day, stand for up to 12 hours per day, and walk for up to 12 hours per day. Must be able to lift, carry, and push objects up to 30 pounds, and frequently lift, carry, and push objects up to 75 pounds. Must be able to transport patients weighing up to 400 pounds via wheelchair, bed, and/or stretcher.
