We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our team at DSJ Global. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving process improvements and implementing lean manufacturing principles to enhance our operational efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or support process improvements by identifying and eliminating waste from our manufacturing processes to facilitate one piece flow, ensure quality and safety.
  • Design and develop innovative solutions to improve our manufacturing processes and reduce lead times.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and ensure seamless integration with existing workflows.
  • Communicate and present ideas, improvements, and accomplishments to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Project manage from start to finish, including project development, implementation, and review.
  • Work in a team-based environment and lead individual projects to drive process improvements.
  • Develop and implement process improvements that include people, material, and information flow, mistake proofing, quick change fixturing, standardization, quick and hands-free clamping, and hands-free loading and unloading.
  • Travel to other sites to participate and lead kaizen workshops.
  • Operate manual lathes, mills, saws, press brakes, and welding machines as part of design and fabrication.

Requirements:

  • Must be self-motivated, result-oriented, with a sense of urgency and adaptability.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement/Kaizen in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of mechanical, components, machine design, and building.
  • Mechanical, wiring, plumbing, including pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.
  • Communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical engineering.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily shop floor environment.

Additional Comments:

  • Kaizen knowledge and experience preferred.
  • CAD knowledge preferred.
  • Operating knowledge of manual lathes, mills, saws, press brakes, welding machines, and all power tools is preferred.
