Your Role

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team comprising engineers, scientists, and military experts, you will contribute to the development of a sophisticated ecosystem for flight training. This system will integrate a variety of legacy and innovative technologies, ensuring data sharing across multiple classification levels. You will take the lead in creating the comprehensive ecosystem model, integrating contributions from partner organizations and military entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model Development and Integration: Design, develop, and maintain intricate system models utilizing MBSE methodologies and SysML. Ensure these models accurately reflect requirements and are cohesively integrated with other systems and domains. Establish and uphold best practices for MBSE.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Engage closely with software, hardware, and network engineers to troubleshoot integration challenges. Work with stakeholders across departments to ensure the system fulfills all operational criteria.
  • Requirement Analysis: Evaluate user needs and existing system capabilities to assess the feasibility of requirements within budget and time constraints. Transform these requirements into actionable specifications and modeling criteria.
  • Simulation and Testing: Create and implement simulation models to evaluate system performance and reliability. Utilize these models to forecast outcomes and refine parameters prior to deployment.
  • Documentation: Generate comprehensive documentation regarding system architecture and design, including technical manuals and user guides. Ensure all materials are precise, clear, and adhere to industry standards.
  • Training and Support: Offer technical assistance and training to users and stakeholders. This includes developing training resources, conducting workshops, and providing ongoing support for system updates and maintenance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on industry trends in MBSE and systems engineering to propose and implement enhancements to modeling practices and technologies. Engage in professional development to further your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • MBSE Expertise: Significant experience (3+ years) with Model-Based Systems Engineering methodologies and tools, with proficiency in SysML.
  • Systems Integration Experience: Proven ability to integrate complex systems in multidisciplinary settings, adept at overcoming integration challenges.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a knack for analyzing system requirements and translating them into coherent models.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Security Clearance: Active Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance at the Secret level; higher clearances may be preferred based on project needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Domain Knowledge: Experience in the defense sector, particularly with military aviation training systems, and familiarity with specific DoD M&S systems (e.g., NGTS, AFSIM, VBS3).
  • Cybersecurity Knowledge: Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, data protection, and cybersecurity, with experience in Risk Management Frameworks (RMF).
  • Leadership Skills: Experience in leading projects or teams, with the ability to mentor junior engineers and manage multiple project components simultaneously.
  • Higher Security Clearance: Active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level.
