We are currently seeking a Healthcare Specialist to join our expanding team. This role is crucial in providing comprehensive client care, facilitating transportation, engaging in client activities, and collaborating with medical professionals during the admissions process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily vital sign assessments for clients.
- Ensure confidentiality and adhere to company, state, federal, and HIPAA regulations.
- Document information for insurance purposes.
- Supervise residents for extended periods.
- Monitor resident activities, including group participation and chore assignments.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment.
- Exhibit a positive and professional demeanor towards residents, staff, and volunteers.
- Manage crisis situations with composure and support.
- Transport clients to various appointments as needed.
- Administer drug screenings.
- Act as a liaison among all areas involved in client care, including medical, admissions, nursing, and clinical staff.
- Assist medical and clinical staff to ensure a smooth transition for clients entering and exiting detox.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Practitioner to uphold the health and safety of residents.
- Administer medications to clients as directed.
- Perform follow-ups with clients and referral sources as instructed by supervisors.
- Demonstrate punctuality and organizational skills in scheduling, filing, and client relations.
- Orient clients upon admission.
- Uphold client confidentiality in compliance with 42 CFR, Part 2.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license is necessary.
Preferred Skills:
- Availability for evening, overnight, and weekend shifts.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Capacity to meet deadlines and maintain schedules.
- Ability to enforce program requirements effectively.
- Competence in report completion and submission.
- Understanding of addiction and mental health issues.
- Familiarity with the 12-Step Recovery Program.
- Skills in problem-solving, stress management, ethics, and team collaboration.
- Knowledge of the effects of alcohol and other drugs on individuals and families.
- Ability to recognize medical emergencies and respond appropriately.
- Familiarity with emergency procedures for substance overdoses.
- Understanding of withdrawal stages and appropriate responses.
- Demonstrated initiative and accountability in achieving organizational goals.
