Charlotte, North Carolina, United States Calculated Hire Full time
Job Title: Business Execution Consultant (Associate)

Location: Charlotte, NC - Hybrid

Department: Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Shared Services – Configurations

Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract

Job Overview:

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Business Execution Consultant (Associate) to join our Configurations team within the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Shared Services group. This role emphasizes troubleshooting, critical thinking, and proactive problem-solving. Candidates should have a finance background, Series 7 certification, and experience with Tableau for data analysis (leveraging reports, not building them). Familiarity with JIRA is also beneficial.

In this role, you will support the Collateral Management team. You will work on collateral agreements, including Credit Support Annexes (CSAs), and handle operational tasks such as reconciliation and responding to JIRA requests. This position is ideal for candidates looking to gain experience within Banking Operations, with a focus on learning collateral management and agreement build processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collateral Agreement Management: Interpret and manage Credit Support Annexes (CSAs) and other collateral agreements to support collateral posting, reconciliation, and management processes.
  • Margin Call Discrepancy Resolution: Collaborate with traders when necessary, particularly in instances of margin call discrepancies. Engage with clients and internal teams to resolve issues when trades have not been properly mapped to agreements.
  • System Configuration & Maintenance: Assist in configuring and maintaining collateral management systems to ensure they align with contractual terms, such as collateral eligibility, margining, and reporting.
  • Agreement Build Terms: Learn and support the agreement build processes, focusing on static component reconciliations.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Respond to operational issues, showing a proactive mindset in resolving discrepancies and managing JIRA requests.
  • JIRA Request Handling: Address security build requests and contact updates submitted through JIRA, collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth workflows.
  • Tableau & Data Analysis: Utilize Tableau reports for analysis, transferring data to Excel for detailed reporting and decision-making.
  • Market Risk Awareness: Stay informed about market conditions affecting collateral needs, ensuring systems are aligned with market changes.
  • Operational Support: Collaborate with middle-office and back-office teams to ensure proper margin calls, dispute resolution, and collateral movements.
  • Series 7 Application: Leverage your Series 7 knowledge in financial transactions and support compliance with regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Series 7 certification is required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial services, preferably in collateral management or operational roles within Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive mindset with a desire to learn and tackle challenges head-on.
  • Experience using Tableau for data analysis and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and data manipulation.
  • Familiarity with JIRA for task and issue management.
  • Knowledge of collateral agreements (such as CSAs) and basic financial market dynamics.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with cross-functional teams and clients.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Learn and manage agreement build terms and ensure proper mapping of trades to agreements.
  • Perform reconciliations for static components.
  • Respond to JIRA requests, including security builds and contact updates.
  • Engage in troubleshooting and operational support, ensuring smooth execution of collateral processes.
