Electrical Project Coordination Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Coordination Specialist to join our team in Mesa, AZ. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for coordinating electrical projects from start to finish.

Salary:The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000, depending on experience.
Job Description:The Electrical Project Coordination Specialist performs various tasks assigned by the Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager, including tracking submittals, RFIs, and major equipment, as well as general document control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Taking off quantities from project drawings
- Filling and processing permit applications and check requests
- Filing completed permit inspections
Document Control:
- Creating and reviewing project RFI's, ensuring they are posted on the current document set, communicating changes with field staff, and communicating with the General Contractor on cost impacts
- Creating, reviewing, requesting, and submitting submittals, communicating changes with field staff
- Ensuring drawings are current, reviewing new documents for changes, and ensuring all sets are accounted for
- Creating a CX document tracking log, printing CX documents, providing them to the QC manager, collecting documents at the end of the job, reviewing for missing documentation, and submitting for closeouts
- Managing closeout documents, requesting them from vendors, reviewing for accuracy, tracking required documents, and reviewing as-built and attic stock
Assisting in Project Buyouts:
- Major purchases: taking off quantities, creating RFPs, bid leveling, vendor selection, issuing purchase orders, and issuing change orders
MOPs (Method of Procedure):
- Development: writing MOPs, reviewing for accuracy with QA/QC or APM/PM, and submitting to the General Contractor
- Management: updating the MOP log, tracking start dates for field coordination
- Access Requests: submitting access requests for personnel on MOPs for live space work prior to start dates
Miscellaneous:
- Labels: creating equipment labels and wire labels, procuring through vendors or creating in-house prior to field need by date
- Payroll: assisting and spot-checking field daily reporting/timesheets by project admin, processing new hire paperwork, processing ROF checks, and expense reimbursements
- Office Orders: ordering needed supplies through project admin
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- BSc/BA in Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant field experience
- A basic understanding of electrical construction and materials
- Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, Primavera P6 & Bluebeam
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
This is a mostly office-based position with typical working hours Monday – Friday during normal business hours. However, when deadlines approach, you may be required to work longer hours, including some weekend work. You may also be required to travel for training/continuing education.
Physical Requirements:The physical demands of this role include occasionally sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. You must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
