Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Experienced Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Dogwood Industries LLC. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for supporting the fabrication, painting, and assembly of steel building structures in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality control hold points in an industrial manufacturing atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance Program to ensure adherence to industry standards and company policies.
  • Use hand and power tools to clean and prep steel surfaces for fabrication and assembly.
  • Handle and move materials and equipment as needed to support production activities.
  • Read and understand work orders and project task codes to ensure accurate completion of tasks.
  • Mix and prepare paint coatings according to manufacturer's instructions and company procedures.
  • Apply paints and coatings to steel surfaces in accordance with established protocols.
  • Accurately record quality data on cleaning and coating reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Clean and maintain factory work areas and bathrooms to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the efficient operation of the production team.
  • Understand and follow all workplace safety rules and the safe operation of tools and equipment to prevent accidents and injuries.
Requirements
  • Ability to use a range of hand and power tools, including those required for fabrication and assembly.
  • Ability to read and understand product labels and follow directions for paints, solvents, and other related products.
  • Ability to reach, bend, crawl, stoop, and lift up to 25 pounds with no restrictions.
  • Ability to be fitted for and use a respirator when required.
  • Ability to be self-directed, requiring little or no supervision.
  • Ability to work well with others and participate as a team member when appropriate.
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of laborer or carpentry experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • High school diploma, general education degree, or vocational degree.
  • Previous experience in construction, manufacturing, or mechanical industries.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull, and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 70 pounds. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment.
