Synerfac is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Safety Specialist to join our team in Chesapeake, VA. Our client is a leading motor and pump shop in the U.S. that specializes in rebuilding and remanufacturing rotating electrical and mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure safety procedures are followed and employees are aware of safety requirements.
- Investigate and analyze safety incidents to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Coordinate workers' compensation claims and oversee fire prevention, hazardous waste management, and other safety-related activities.
- Develop and maintain safety procedures, policies, and training programs.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial safety.
- OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent formal training.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
