Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Development Professional - Sports & Recreation to join our team at Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising a variety of sports and recreation programs for members of all ages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Planning and Implementation
    • Develop and implement high-yield activities and targeted programs within a health and life skills focus.
    • Ensure youth development principles are incorporated into all programs and activities.
  • Program Supervision and Management
    • Supervise members in the program area, ensuring a healthy and safe environment.
    • Maintain the cleanliness of the program area and inventory of program equipment and supplies.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Maintain close, daily contact with club staff and volunteers, club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
  • Reporting and Evaluation
    • Prepare weekly reports for the Program Director/Unit Director regarding activities, special programs, upcoming events, attendance, and other reports as required.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience
    • Knowledge of youth development and ability to motivate youth and manage behavior issues.
    • Ability to work with the public and plan and implement quality programs specific to Sports and Recreation.
  • Skills
    • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods; bending and squatting on occasion.
    • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on occasion.
    • Ability to hear at a normal conversational level.
    • Ability to maintain a high energy level when necessary.
Work Environment

This position generally works M – F, hours between the hours of 2 PM – 7 PM, but may require longer hours outside of this schedule and occasional weekends when necessary. Work is conducted indoors and outdoors.
