Job Title: Sports Instructor

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sports Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Florida's First Coast. As a Sports Instructor, you will be responsible for implementing and supervising sports programs for our members and the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent the YMCA and maintain positive relationships with members, parents, and youth.
  • Instruct practices for various sports, including volleyball, soccer, basketball, and flag football, at scheduled times and supervise games.
  • Promote YMCA facilities and programs, and assist with special events as needed.
  • Arrange for substitutes to teach scheduled classes when necessary.
  • Manage equipment, resources, and programs to deliver high-quality programs.
  • Ensure safety practices are upheld in the facility.
  • Instruct at and/or help with summer camps, practices, and clinics.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • A minimum of one year of experience coaching specific sports, as well as in-depth knowledge of rules and guidelines.
  • Present a professional image to parents and the general public.
  • Highly organized, with superior communication skills and teaching abilities.
  • Ability to develop harmonious relationships with staff members and community leaders.
  • Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.
Physical Demands:

Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions and supervise program activities in various indoor and outdoor locations.
