Job Title: Injection Molding Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Injection Molding Engineer to join our team at LG Chem. As a key member of our Customer Solutions Center, you will be responsible for developing advanced injection molding processes and technologies, providing on-site technical assistance to customers, and researching new technologies to provide practical solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize injection molding processes and technologies
  • Provide technical assistance to customers, including troubleshooting and injection molding optimization
  • Research and investigate new technologies to provide practical solutions
  • Communicate with customers and provide solutions on-site and off-site
  • Design and schedule experiments, testing methods, and CAE (Moldflow, etc.)
  • Prepare technical reports, data summaries, and other technical documents
  • Manage the lab, including materials, machines, and facilities, and create/implement SOPs (Safety Operating Process Manuals)
  • Hold injection molding technical seminars for customers and training for engineers, sales, and CS staff
  • Collaborate with HQ to develop the technical roadmap
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in polymer, injection molding, or relevant fields
  • 5+ years of experience in mold manufacturing, design, or analysis, or injection molding industries
  • 5+ years of experience in injection molding or processing of thermoplastics and relevant fields at OEM or Tier 1 of automotive, home appliances, or consumer products
  • 5+ years of experience in plastic molding design and injection molding analysis CAE (e.g., Moldflow)
  • Extensive experience in developing and optimizing injection molding parameters
  • Experience in machining, mold fabrication, assembly, and mold maintenance
  • Knowledge of various thermoplastic materials and evaluation tools (microscope, residual stress analyzer, PVT, Reholometer, etc.)
  • Collaboration with injection molding engineer, product designer, and manufacturing engineer group at OEM/ODM
  • PowerPoint, Excel, Word skills
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Strong background in problem-solving, using multiple analytical procedures to identify and characterize injection molding problems
