Job Title: Program Coordinator

Join the City of South Bend team as a Program Coordinator, responsible for assisting the manager with staffing and programming of event spaces and parks. This role involves engaging in planning, coordinating, and supervising programs and activities for the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with all administrative duties on programs and events
  • Assist with program planning, staffing, set up, and executing day of activities and programs
  • Develop and coordinate a diverse range of recreational programs and activities
  • Collect and review data from past programming to evaluate future needs
  • Supervise and support youth and teens attending programs
  • Assist with community outreach for programs
  • Assist with creating graphics and advertisements for programming in the park
  • Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate activities, programs, and/or events
  • Oversee utilization of marketing software for online program/event registration
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Associate Degree is preferred
  • Working knowledge of City or County Government a plus
  • Experience in a classroom setting or work with children is preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
  • Knowledge and up-to-date principles and practices of events planning and programming
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public, either through individuals or agencies
  • Ability to administrate, coordinate programs, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
