Surgical Coordinator

Schedule procedures with precision and attention to detail as a key member of our team at Allied Physicians Surgery Center LLC.
As a Surgical Coordinator, you will be responsible for scheduling general and local procedures, utilizing requests from surgeons and/or their office personnel, according to established Center policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule procedures accurately and efficiently, utilizing specific policies and guidelines.
- Coordinate with Pre-op staff to prepare charts for patients having surgery the next day, ensuring all orders have been completed and diagnostic results, H & P, and consent are available on the patient's chart.
- Prepare the Center's surgery schedule daily and distribute it in a timely manner.
- Make accurate and timely adjustments to the surgery schedule, including add-ons, cancellations, and other changes, and communicate these changes appropriately.
- Assist with generating monthly statistics and other reports as requested, and distribute them to the Executive Director, Medical Director, and the Board of Managers.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering telephone calls using proper telephone courtesy, taking and delivering messages in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist visitors, staff, and physicians with good guest relations.
- Act as a resource for staff in the use of the computer and scheduling systems.
- Participate in the Center's Quality Improvement Program activities, including identification of aspects of care, collection and analysis of data, formulation of recommendations, implementation of an improvement plan, and evaluation of the process.
- Attend Center staff and unit meetings and educational opportunities.
- Prioritize job responsibilities to facilitate optimum quality of patient care.
- Demonstrate flexibility in meeting the needs of the Center.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Surgical Scheduling experience REQUIRED.
- Interpersonal communication skills required to facilitate effective interaction with a variety of health care professionals.
- Clerical skills, including keyboarding a minimum of 50 words/minute, familiarity with software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite. Aptitude for learning new computer software.
- Familiarity with medical terminology preferred or required to complete a course in medical terminology. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
- Ability to concentrate in a busy environment while giving attention to details.
