The Bilingual Teacher will maintain a dedicated classroom, delivering tailored academic and language instruction to English Learners in both English and Spanish. This role encompasses sheltered instruction, English Language Development, and ESL methodologies across various subjects. A Distinctive Schools Bilingual Teacher is a passionate advocate for biliteracy, committed to nurturing students' language skills and academic knowledge essential for becoming active and productive members of the classroom community.

Instruction and Assessment (90%)
- Implement the Distinctive Schools Academic and Bilingual Model.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students' language proficiency.
- Integrate WIDA Standards into daily lesson plans.
- Analyze work produced by culturally and linguistically diverse students.
- Provide direct Bilingual and ESL instruction to a diverse classroom.
- Assign ESL grades for students receiving services.
- Develop lesson plans that utilize effective instructional strategies to support Spanish-speaking students.
- Deliver Spanish Language Arts and ESL curriculum effectively.
- Facilitate lessons that promote student engagement and cognitive development.
- Employ a variety of instructional methodologies tailored to the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse students.
- Assist in administering required English Language Proficiency assessments.
- Support the administration of state-mandated assessments for English Learners.
- Ensure all students engage with grade-appropriate assignments using core curriculum resources.
- Commit to student-centered learning that integrates individual needs and interests.
- Maintain an inventory of instructional materials.
- Keep accurate records of student progress and development.
- Utilize assessment data to inform instructional strategies and support student mastery of grade-level standards.
- Engage in professional development and collaborative opportunities to enhance instructional effectiveness.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal.
Classroom Environment (10%)

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Licensure:
- Valid Professional Educator License or equivalent.
- Valid Bilingual Spanish Endorsement or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Spanish across reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Technology Skills:
- Ability to analyze student and campus data from various sources.
- Proficient in cloud-based software solutions.
- Willingness to learn new digital tools as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, and significant fine motor skills required. The role typically involves 10% sitting, 50% walking, and 40% standing.
