Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Territory Sales Representative - Commercial to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for growing both commercial and residential sales in Kern County, Palmdale, and Lancaster territories, as well as commercial growth in the Central Coast region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive demand and grow sales of all Simpson product lines in the defined marketplace, including being active on job sites, prospecting, conducting sales calls, identifying opportunities, giving presentations, and providing training and technical support.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with customers, as well as managing supply chain relationships with channel partners.
  • Promote Simpson Strong-Tie as an industry partner and potential employer, participate in tradeshows, association meetings, and various committees and/or causes, and provide educational opportunities in classroom settings throughout your territory.
  • Other duties and responsibilities, including consistent CRM management and usage, scheduling, business planning, submitting expense reports in a timely manner, regular maintenance of company-owned vehicles, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of servicing contractors, distributors, engineers, and building departments on construction product lines preferred.
  • 3-5 years of industry experience and/or training. Fluent in commercial construction practices and distribution channels.
  • Technical: Ability to gain product knowledge in order to become a trusted resource for Simpson Products and solutions.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to develop and present captivating presentations and incorporate sales skills to step a prospect through a story.
  • Creative & Innovative Thinking: Ability to exhibit creativity and innovation when contributing to organizational and individual objectives.
  • Decision Making & Judgement: Ability to balance analysis, wisdom, experience, and perspective when making decisions.

  • Driving Record: A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites, and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times.

Travel Requirements

This job requires 40% domestic travel.

Work Status and Location

This full-time, exempt position is located in Riverside, CA.

Compensation

$76,300 - $109,100 / year
