Certifications: ACLS, BLS

Must-Have:

  • Immediate post-open heart surgical admission experience
  • Experience with Swan Ganz catheters
  • Experience with manual thermodilution syringe for Cardiac Index calculation
  • Experience with epicardial and transvenous pacing wires

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Work in a 42-bed ICU specializing in open heart surgery, heart transplants, and LVAD care.
  • Provide care for patients with advanced heart failure, multi-vessel disease, coronary artery disease, pulmonary hypertension, and valvular heart disease.
  • Assist in common bedside procedures such as bronchoscopies, intubations, tracheostomies, central line insertions, and arterial line insertions.
  • Conduct immediate post-open heart surgical admissions.
  • Maintain a staffing ratio of 1:2 and work with adult patients.
  • Utilize systems like Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR.
  • COMPLIANCE: Full compliance required to start on time, with a bi-weekly orientation schedule.
  • Weekend requirements include every other weekend.
  • Floating to other units may be required.
  • Must be available to work major holidays based on assignment period.
  • Orientation hours are 13, non-billable.
