Job Title: Library Youth Services Program Clerk

Join the City of Farmington team as a Library Youth Services Program Clerk We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to assist with the development and implementation of youth services programs at the Farmington Public Library.

Job Summary:

The Library Youth Services Program Clerk will work under the supervision of the Youth Services Coordinator to provide excellent customer service to patrons of all ages. This includes greeting patrons, answering questions, and assisting with program planning and execution. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a passion for working with children and youth.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service to patrons of all ages, including children, youth, and adults.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of youth services programs, including planning, promotion, and execution.
  • Work with the Youth Services Coordinator to plan and deliver programs for children and youth, including storytime, book clubs, and other activities.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the Youth Services desk, including answering phones, responding to emails, and providing general assistance to patrons.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other projects as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Youth Services Coordinator or other library staff.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with patrons of all ages.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
  • Passion for working with children and youth, with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to learn and apply library procedures and policies, with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
Working Conditions:

The Library Youth Services Program Clerk will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision. The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work with patrons of all ages.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is $12.50/hour, with benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and holidays.
