Job Overview

As a Paralegal, you will play a vital role in supporting lawyers by investigating facts, preparing legal documents, and researching legal precedents. Your research will help support a legal proceeding, formulate a defense, or initiate legal action.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare affidavits or documents, such as legal correspondence, and organize and maintain records in paper or electronic filing systems.
  • Prepare for trial by organizing exhibits and performing other tasks as needed.
  • Prepare legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, and real estate closing statements.
  • Meet with clients and other professionals to discuss case details.
  • File pleadings with the court clerk.
  • Gather and analyze research data, such as statutes, decisions, legal articles, codes, and documents.
  • Call upon witnesses to testify at hearings.
  • Investigate facts and law of cases and search relevant sources to determine causes of action and prepare cases.
  • Direct and coordinate law office activity, including delivery of subpoenas.
  • Keep and monitor legal volumes to ensure the law library is up-to-date.
