Automotive Laboratory Technician II

We're seeking a skilled Automotive Laboratory Technician II to join our team at Roush Enterprises. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll play a critical role in supporting the development and testing of innovative vehicle technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead execution of test procedures, collecting high-quality data using specialized equipment and software.
  • Support diagnosis and issue resolution for test units, equipment, and facilities.
  • Install and maintain test units, fixtures, and instrumentation.
  • Perform regular maintenance, replace parts, and request shop supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records of test units, tests run, maintenance, and part changes.
  • Work directly with engineers to operate at experimental conditions.
  • Support calibration and maintenance of test equipment for ISO compliance.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in an automotive environment.
  • Minimum 1 year mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, or fabrication experience in a testing environment.
  • Good MS Office skills, specifically with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and flexibility to learn new skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Good knowledge of test procedures, equipment, and data acquisition systems used in testing vehicles, engines, fuels systems, emissions, components, or material properties.
  • Ability to interpret collected data to support engineers.

A successful candidate may also have:

  • Associate degree or technical school certification.
  • 4 years of experience testing vehicles, products, powertrains, engines, fuel systems, emissions, chassis components, or material properties.
  • Experience operating or calibrating emissions analyzers, flow meters, or tensile test machines.
  • Experience with in-cylinder pressure measurement and combustion analyzers.
  • Experience with Siemens LMS TestLab or MTS Flextest.
  • Experience with fabrication of metals.
