Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Structural Mechanic II to join our team in Savannah, GA. As a key member of our production department, you will perform a variety of structural assembly operations, ensuring high-quality results and meeting demanding schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and fit detail parts and structures, performing drilling and riveting operations to ensure parts meet requirements.
  • Rivet structural assemblies and parts using various tools, demonstrating the ability to remove fasteners without damaging the structure.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine the sequence of operations and type, size, and hole pattern for rivets.
  • Check all work to ensure a defective-free assembly prior to final inspection, maintaining and using all logs and records.
  • Align and assemble parts to be riveted using jigs, holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
  • Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Request (MRR), and Production Change Orders (PCO), performing necessary rework to ensure installations meet conformity.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, supporting the company's 5S Program and complying with all safety regulations.
  • Work with minimal supervision on duties and tasks, supporting Lean Activities.
Requirements
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must be skilled in close tolerance work and have knowledge of special tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to use mathematical formulas to solve dimensional problems using fractions, decimal fractions, and whole numbers.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to read a scale and perform basic shop math.
  • Read and comprehend basic documents and instructions.
  • Must have essential personal skills, including an aptitude for hands-on craftwork, a professional attitude, attention to detail, ability to work with people, and meet demanding schedules.
  • Must demonstrate good housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Ability to work with composite resins and materials.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work any shift.
  • Must be able to climb ladders/stands/stairs and work in small spaces and/or restricted areas.
